Like many I am sure I and my Best Buddy were soooo Excited that we were going to be able to go see this sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra as this was supposed to be June 29, 2012 Not only were we going to be seeing a sequel ( eeeeeeek squeal of excitement) but we were going to be able to see it in the theater together! (as My Best Buddy lives outside of the USA) well sadly days before the movie was to be released we, I got one of the BIGGEST shocks of my life the movie had been DELAYED? I had never heard of such a thing I was you know what;) Of course Happy that it was just delayed but of course very bummed and if your aware of how the Movie G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. is seen by quite a few, unlike myself as being NOT G.I. Joe and more like something you find on the bottom of your shoe and yet we have, and are, getting a toy line for G.I. Joe Retaliation that has some lets say Issues the
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra toy line did not have (but that's a discussion for another time:) and were told the reason for the biggest issue I have with the G.I. Joe Retaliation toy line ARTICULATION is because they wanted the cost of the figures on the shelf to be less than the cost of the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra toy line Yet maybe it was just me but I think this was only "an issue" for me when it came to vehicles of that line but I think a TOYS R US promotion helped I and others with that. so I am sure wither we thought about it or wanted to let ourselves think about it when "WE" heard lower prices did it ever dawn on us that they would give us "these lower prices" by the way of giving us lesser grade looking packaging, and less ARTICULATION? Also when I was buying the G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra figures before the promotional pricing I think the most I saw figures that are our "4 inch figures" was 8.99 and yet now because of the "cost of fuel and Plastic" our figures are 9.99 and vehicles are 19.99 unlike
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra where vehicles were starting at 24.99 I believe. Yet not only are we paying 9.99 for less articulated single carded figures those lower priced vehicles your not going to see this coming. They come with if you can believe it LESS articulated figures with less articulation than our less articulation individual figures:( Also were in someways getting less screen accurate figures in the way of the G.I. Joe Retaliation trooper and a very strongly wanted screen accurate COBRA COMMANDER. so we are now at the point where we have lost video making opportunities (yet will just have to try and give them a twist;)
A delayed movie
we don't get to see the movie in the theater with our Best Buddy
We got G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra which many say is not G.I. Joe, does not look like G.I. Joe. Yet got figures that were articulated and pretty Darn close to if not screen accurate
Now we have G.I. Joe Retaliation which many say looks like G.I. Joe, and feels like G.I. Joe. Yet we got figures that are less articulated and are not as screen accurate. fingers crossed though there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel in the way and hope for future waves of figures:D
so as much as I should be happy I am "saving money" by not buying these figures I sure hope this toy line was not rushed in order to be on the shelves by the time this movie was originally supposed to be released for the movie to have been pushed back by 9 months. so why the delay?
