Above and here is my 2010 Canon Vixia HF M31 Camcorder. If I am not mistaken I bought it in november or december of 2010. so it was new, and a huge Deal as it was HD, and I searched all over, and put a lot of time, and thought into getting it, and trying to get it. I believe I bought it at first for 449.00 ( which will be a interesting thing both here, and later. Here because the going price at the time was $699.00. Once I bought the camera I was very happy, and loved all the HD goodness, and the features.

So why the new camera, and why not just get a replacement?
well I was not thinking it would happen, and I am sure more was going on at the time, but i was getting out of the car, and had my camera in my hand yet it was also the same hand that I was having to hold Rupert by the leash in. So he started running for some reason so out of my hand my camera went, it fell to the ground, and cracked it case open a bit. I believe i was able to snap it closed pretty good. Yet now when recording it makes this struggling to move sound. it would not be so bad except for the fact the camera records the sound so at times I can have segments of videos that have that sound in them:( I still plan to use the camera to record it will just have to be my backup camera should i really, really. need it.
Besides feeling like I am missing out on features, and better placed physical buttons why do I have mixed feelings about the new camera I have which is the

well in the comparison pictures I hope it will be noticeable, or I will be able to explain. Just like in the past when it comes to the M series you have a choice between the Canon HF M300 which has no built in memory but had a SD card slot.
M30 which has 8GB internal flash drive and an SD memory card slot
M31 which has 32GB internal flash drive and an SD memory card slot so I bought this one as i think i's great to have the 32 GB of built-in memory,
M32 which at the time I did not know existed but has 64GB internal flash drive and an SD memory card slot.
so last year when the power cord for my M31 wore out, and my remote stopped working. I thought i would buy a new camera. yet i fought that urge even though the VIXIA HF R52 had me intrigued as it said it could be remotely controlled by your cellphone through WI FI.
so when it came this year time for me to edit one of the Castle Greyskull videos Dave and I made and I heard the "struggling to move sound" throughout the video :( I did my best to edit it out, and to put music throughout the whole clip as to try, and mute the sound as much as i could but still make it so we could be heard. Well now that I am a owner of the Canon VIXIA HF R60 I am a mix of both happy, and concerned. I went with the R 60 as it gives me
8 GB of memory and is 50.00 less than the R 62 which has 32 GB of memory. sure more memory is cool yet for 50.00 or a little more we can buy a SD and have 64 GB of memory.
so before I knew it I thought I had made the right choice because I was getting a new camera, and saving money. Yet now these are true, but my concerned part comes in as I now think that the R series is the step down in someways to the M series as the M series feels in look, and feel less cheap than the R series.
